This episode is going to be reviewed in a bit different way, because I can't quite gather my thoughts about it.

THOUGHTS:

-
I love me some background, and any background that involves Herrick is always great. Mitchell's hair though.

- So, when that guy (with the extremely funny facial hair) walks into the room and sees Mitchell and Herrick and the dead body, Mitchell goes: 'ah, tomb-service'. Didn't Herrick tell this story to the other vampires way back when in season 1?? We just hear the end of it '... the guy comes in, sees us all covered in blood and Mitchell just goes 'ugh, tomb-service', and then they all laugh and are like OMG MITCHELL YOU'RE SO GREAT SIGN MY SHIRT. Or bodypart or whatever. My point was that, if I'm correct in this, that was an excellent call-back.

- On a sidenote, the dead woman looks a bit like Lucy... was that just me? was that some omnious cluepoint or am I making weird patterns in my head again?

- I want to know more about the blood-ritual! I want to know how and why and also... did Herrick turn Mitchell? I am so confused about this, because it would certainly explain them being together for so long and Herrick wanting Mitchell back on his side, but in S1 their dynamic was so unlike that? Sometimes it even seems like Mitchell's older, but we know he didn't turn Herrick. I'm just going to guess they were best buds for a few hundred years, until Mitchell left and Herrick threw his half of the BFF-necklace in a lake or something.

- Mitchell needs to stop being so dismissive of Annie. She is the sweetest thing ever and I don't doubt that he loves her, but goddammit! At least they didn't have any true angst this episode. Or the angst was mainly one-sided, because Mitchell's still fucking keeping the big elephant in the room from her. You really know its bad when your relationship would be healthier once you've admitted to slaughtering twenty innocent people....

- Ooh, no, George's dad!

- Annie... stop... omg... stop... OHGODSTOP!! I AM SORRY I AM SO SAD FOR GEORGE BUT I COULDN'T HELP BUT LAUGH

- SERIOUSLY ANNIE WHY ARE YOU SO BAD AT THIS??

- YOU PUNCHED HIM. OMG. IN THE SHOULDER. PUNCHED HIM. OMG.

- Sorrysorry. I know how hard it is, having to suddenly be around a friend whose lost someone dear to them. One of my friends grandfather died last year, and they were really close, and she was really sad and I'm usually not good at consoling (like really bad), but AT LEAST I DIDN'T PUNCH HER. Oh god Annie...

- And then Mitchell and Annie are happy and adorable together and I am crying and shaking my fist to the heavens because this won't last, obviously. Only two more episodes left. It's not fair. I am so mad.

- Herrick needs to stop being a lost puppy. This is another reason why I am so happy for the flashbacks. It is such great acting, but I miss the old Herrick. He was such a badass! Moar please?

- George's dad is as adorable in demeanor as his son. I can't deal.

- King of the Gypsies... aw, I wanted that title.

- I don't like Mitchell vs. Nina. I mean, I like it in the terms that its a brilliant plotpoint, but I just want them all to be happy and best friends and live together forever and all raise the little furry baby and BE HAPPY. DAMMIT. THIS IS WORSE THAN ROMEO AND JULIET. WHY DO YOU PEOPLE REFUSE TO BE HAPPY? WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID???

- Sorry, got a bit carried away there...

- Also, Mitchell... when you're already in a hole, then stop digging! Seriously...

- I really like Nancy. She's perky and so beautiful I actually had to rewind and watch her scenes again, because I missed some of the dialogue. I mean, god does the camera love her! How can anyone be so pretty? No wonder they kept giving us close-ups of her face. A whole episode just of that would have made me happy.

- She also has pens in her hair. I can't make buns in my hair, but I keep pens behind my ear and then forget about them and hurt myself or almost poke someones eyes out when I'm hugging them. See, we have things in commen Nancy! Let's sit down over tea and talk about it!

- (why does some of Nina's hair look darker? usually her hair is so pretty, but suddenly it wasn't this episode? also, why isn't she showing yet? how long's it been? c'mon, I want a baby-bump)

- Lia! Oh god no it's Lia!!!

- So, the evil stepdad was horrible and terrible and I yelled when George Sr. punched him. YES OMG SHUT THE HELL UP.

- George is, however, still as bad as lying as ever. It physically hurts, because I've cracked a rib laughing.

- I honestly did not see George Sr. not being dead coming. Not from a mile away! What a brilliant plot-twist!

- I really liked the practice scene: it reminded me of when George did the same with Annie back in S1, when she was going to make Owen confess. Remember people? That was glorious.

- (okay, it's bad that I'm thinking of this, but who the hell is paying for the funeral? funerals are expensive and he's not even dead!)

- HERRICK. YOU ARE THE MOST SINISTER BEING IN ALL THE UNIVERSE. PLEASE STOP. DEAR GOD I WOULD HAVE WET MYSELF. BUT THEN AGAIN NANCY JUST PEED THATS PROBABLY WHY SHE DIDN'T. WHY AM I TALKING ABOUT PEE????

- Also, maybe you should mention to your parents that they're going to be grandparents? Did everyone forget about the baby? OMG IS THIS A NEW PLOTPOINT? SUDDEN BABY-AMNESIA?? whoa plot-twist.

- The whole finale sequence gave me chills. Fuckshitfuck. Yeah, sure Mitchell, burn the book now. Nancy's seen it, its too late! Wanker...

QUOTES:

'Can I get you anything? Coffe? Tea?... Me?'

'You were trying to make him feel better. That's what you do. You make things... you make people better.'

'I am not ready to leave her!'

'I still can't watch the Olympics without getting flashbacks!'

'What kind of door?'

'Oh god, this tea is amazing. No, seriously - I think I've shagged people for less!'

'Over fifteen-hundred people drowning, while Celine Dion wails like a banshee. What's not to like?'

I'm fairly sure in S1 there's a flashback to World War 1 which is when Mitchell was turned into a vampire and Herrick is either shown turning him or it's stated that Herrick is the one who made him a vampire. Mitchell wasn't that old for a vampire - less than 100 years.
