Downton Abbey: Episode 2x08

Picspam! And feelings and I am very tired so... weird thoughts and feelings. You have been warned.



Starting off: I really like the parallel that is Matthew walking through Downton Abbey, all happy in the start and then by the end of the episode, morose and sad. Also, love triangle of doom and despair:



I thought Edith was very pretty this episode - she looks good in black:



Also, random Sybil-shot: she's in such an awful position and no-one will listen to her!



Crawley's assemble! (is it bad that when I first had to write that I wrote 'Crowley?' Clearly Supernatural is getting to my brain)

Branson and Sybil forever! Just the way they look at each other...




I really-really like Edith and Violet's relationship. This scene was just... ugh, I just want Edith to have someone, yeah? Someone who will STAY with her




OTP-ALERT!




NOW COMES THE GREATEST MOST MAGNIFICENT MOMENT IN ALL OF TELEVISION HISTORY! ARE YOU READY?





(just the way he's looking at her omgomg always be this close to each other!)



Busted!



A lot of other stuff happens: Lord Grantham is the biggest slut of slutdonia (yes, him, not Jane, HE'S MARRIED!!!), there's a baby and Gibbs from Pirates of the Caribbean makes an appearance:



And then people start getting sick. And O'Brien is precious and breaks my heart - I've grown to feel so much sympathy for her this season:




Ugh, this is just horrible and terrible and.. and Lavinia's such a saint, I can't even hate her y'know?? She has been way more brave in her situation than I ever would be and she's not being all 'noble sacrifice', she's trying to do what's best for both of them and I can't hate her, I just can't.



Conflicted!Matthew:




Dan Stevens acts the hell out of this scene: Lavinia dying is just horrible and I can't I can't I can't!!!





Again: Matthew wandering aimlessly, this time not happy that he can walk again. This time he's shattered and... ughugh it's just not fair how is this show so horrible clearly the writers feed off of tears and torment!!




YES!!!!! YES YES YES YES OMG I WILL DIE FROM JOY RIGHT THIS MOMENT!!




And THEN THIS! MATTHEW STOP BEING SUCH A BIGOT, LAVINIA DIED SO YOU COULD GET THE GIRL OMG NONONO




A small moment of happiness amidst all the angst: Robert, I am happy you have come to your senses. I now no longer have to run you over with the same pick-up truck I pitted against the Doctor and Sam Winchester. Be happy.





and then all joy and hope and love is forever crushed. forever.

This is seriously one of the most beautiful and heart-breaking episode in the eNtire history of television. SERIOUSLY.

The kiss between Mary and Matthew (OTP FOREVER) is my favourite scene in the show so far! So intense and beautiful ♥ and ugh, poor Lavinia! It would be easy to hate her if she was a bitch, but she's not! I was very sad when she died :(

YAY PICSMAM!!!! I love this ep so much, you've no idea. Even though it broke my heart, but seriously, who cares when you have...the dance scene! And all my OTPs, and I can't even hate Robert for long even though I hate him a lot, and my darling Edith keeps suffering (now that's bloody unfair) but gets a great scene and Violet is all kinds of awesome, and 'Of course it's the end, how could it not be?', and Robert and Branson shake hands, and, and...*takes a breath* You get the idea. :P
