Being Human 3x02 - Adam's Family

I would like to thank the writers of this episode, for going with something that could have easily turned into a boring-filled cliché and instead made it a fresh new chapter and amazing catalyst for our main characters to grow.
I'd like to start by talking about Adam and his situation. Back in season one, when Mitchell turned the boy from his neighbourhood into a vampire to save his life... I don't know if that was a good thing. On one hand, it certainly wasn't a bad one. His mother clearly wanted it. She gets her son back. But he's going to be a twelve-year old forever now and nowhere in my head can I imagine that things aren't going to go very bad someday.
I don't feel that way with Adam. This episode is so good at being subtle! There's no heartfelt and overly dramatic declarations, no spelling out of feelings like a lot of shows - especially American shows, I'm sorry to say - tend to do. But Adam goes through the journey of finally, FINALLY growing up. I want to yell in joy at how wonderful his parents were, I really do, but I can't dismiss the fact that, once they were gone, Adam was completely alone with no way to operate at all. If Nina and George hadn't been there to take care of him, if Mitchell hadn't been there to serve as an example, then he would have probably gone on a rampage. What was he supposed to do? But this way, he gets a second chance, and while I'm not denying that there are lots of room for mistakes and slip-ups, I do really think he is going to be alright.
This leads me back to Mitchell. Mitchell, thank-youthankyouthankyou. Adam grew up this episode, and so did you. You took everything you learned from your little visist to Purgatory and you actually made a good and sound and mature decision. You've taken responsibility for your actions, you've cleared a new path and now all you need to do is take it. This is the hardest part Mitchell, but please, it seems like there is only one season left of you PLEASE DON'T LET ME DOWN. Sometimes I feel like his redemption has come too late - the whole prospect, the fact that he knows he is going to get killed soon, I think its going to deter him from doing what he should. Or maybe its a self-fulfilling prophecy? Maybe Lia told him so he can go be cautious about werewolves and screw things up with George and Nina, and by extenctions also Annie, and then go on another rampage and then George or McNair and Son HAS to kill him???
I don't even want to think about it :( so lets instead talk about Annie and Mitchell: about how we've gotten our helpful little houseghost back! About how absolutely fucking hilarious that job-interview was. I think I cracked a rib laughing. And that last scene - as Annie says, she came back for them. For George and for Nina and for Mitchell - maybe most of all for Mitchell. If he leaves, then whats the point? If she has no friends, no supernatural creatures left, then she's not really there, is she? No-one can see her, no-one can hear her. And that's worse than Purgatory, she says. I can imagine. So Mitchell makes the right decision and stays, gives some kick-ass advice to Adam (now to hope he can take his own advice as well!) and stays.
Can we appreciate the fact that this is now the second time that George has stormed a vampire-lair in order to help another vampire in trouble? The scenes were even similar, with Annie/Nina being all '....' and him being absolutely non-threatening, despite his best attempt at trying! Oh George, never stop trying. And can we talk about those vampires? I mean WHAT??? You have this feelings that something is just not right at all, from the very minute you see the wife, don't you? I mean, its all so creepily... perfect. It just feels wrong. I'm not even going to talk about the... donor... that guy... Seven and.... their... 'parties'... with their friends, I suppose. But the wife making Nina and George wipe their feet and having to sit on a newspaper when sitting on the couch - PERFECTION! And all the dog-jokes. 'Racist!' I just love this whole rapport between the two different types of supernatural creatures. Excellent.
QUOTES:
'I watched 'The Fly' last night. It left me completely paranoid! Oh, but not in a mad way!'
'... I mean, oh God..."
'Don't say God, she might be religious!'
'Shit!'
'God was better."
'Who wants some of my plant??!'
'Adam! For goodness sake, drink the man's blood and have sex with me on the billiard table! You're embarrasing us!'
'... Recent claims from Mitchell puts it all aside as just mind-games, but to this the werewolves state: he won't be saying that when he has his throat ripped out, Mitchell's gonna get gut.'
'You surround yourself with good people. And then, when you make a mistake, it's their dissapointment you have to face.'
