I am making dinner for four on Friday. HELP. I have absolutely no ideas and limited time to come up with something. F-list save me! Bear in mind that I tend to be a spaz in the kitchen, so something easy but tasty would be nice :) Apart from that, we pretty much eat everything, so hit me!

Pasta? ;) I'm serious though, they're good with basically any sauce. Other than that, a chinese recipe of beef with onions and rice is a personal favourite if I have to cook, it's easy to make and very tasty. If you want a couple of recipes, let me know :)

I'd love some recipes if it wouldn't be a bother :) my cooking this far has been pretty limited to pasta, so I'd love to try something new :D

I'd second pasta as a good option. Something like spaghetti bolognaise is really easy.

If you're up for something a little more adventurous, pretty much everything I've tried from The Pioneer Woman has been fantastic. Her posts are step-by-step with photos and she seems a bit like a spaz too. I'm actually making this roast chicken recipe tonight after making a mini-version of it last week with just a chicken breast, and it was FANTASTIC, and really, really easy. Basically mix up butter and spices, slather the chicken, then throw it in the oven and forget it for 1.5 hours, but it looks so glamorous!!

Thanks so much for the links! Some of that look really good and it seems manageable, even for someone like me :)

Pasta salad! Because if I can do it, so can you!
My version is made with fusilli, tomatoes, cucumber, Frankfurter sausage, grated cheese and mayonnaise. Cut the tomatoes, cucumber and sausages into pieces while the pasta is cooking. When the pasta is done, mix it all. Simples!

Thanks so much :D that actually sounds like a great idea for my sisters party next week - it's all of her favorite things mixed together xD (minus the nutella)

And Nutella could be for dessert.

This is my go-to meal if I have to cook, and I think it's delicious.

Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients: Any kind of beef you want, tub of sour cream, half a stick of butter, jar of mushrooms, salt, pepper, egg noodles

Directions:

1. Chop the beef into smallish pieces
2. Melt the butter in a pan and brown the beef in it.
3. Pour in the mushrooms, too.
4. Pour the Sour Cream over.
5. Stir it around until it is warm
6. Add salt and pepper to taste
7. Serve over egg noodles (which you have presumably boiled at some point in the process)

It's not exciting, but it's delicious. :-)

And easy.

Thanks! I think I can do that without burning down the house :D

house-not-burning-down tip (from experience): Don't overheat the pan before you put the butter on it.

Yes, I am an incompetent clutz.

You can't go wrong with spaghetti bolognaise and garlic bread... well...unless you burn the bread ;p

Kan du lide kantareller? Kan de?

Jeg elsker kantareller! :D

Måske fillet af svinekød med kantareller? Kartofler og grønne bønner? Ikke så svært som du tror. :-)

Two pots for boiling, two pans for frying, some can be prepared in advance. Depends on whether the guests eat meat or not, of course.

I always go for pasta with red sauce (sometimes bolognaise, sometimes just plain red sauce) and salad with lots of green leaves in situations like this. Or sometimes me and my friends make pie, but mostly when we want something easy and quick to eat while we do something else. :)

I absolutely fail at making pie, though my mother has a lot of good recipes :) what kind of pies do you usually make?

My mum has a considerably easy recipe for a simple batter, then we chop pretty much anything (vegetables, cheese, chicken, etc) and mix it with the liquid batter, then straight to the oven. It's pretty much like a cake.
