I've been busy. With nothing. Really nothing. I have been avidly following Natalie Dee and now desperately want a t-shirt, for which I have no money. I also want/need money for about five thousand books (half of which are presents) and half a dozen movies, cds and a trip to Paris.

Did I mention that I am going to Paris this Easter? It sort of hit me today... Like, really hit me. And now I'm kinda terrified. Because I really don't think the French will like me. I mean, I am clumsy and when I say 'Pardon?' it sounds like I'm a pirate (no really. All I need is the 'aaaarrrrrr' and we're good to go). I mean, I'm taking German lessons, not French. What went wrong and why am I not going back to Berlin?

I have also started watching 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars Television Series' and thus far all I have to say is that the voice that introduces (at least in the first few eps) cracks me up! I am sorry, but I cannot take him seriously.

BUT THAT IS NOT WHY I AM HEEEEREEE!!   I am here, because I have been watching BBC's Merlin, season 3. And the first episode turned me into a mega-force of emotion. No, really. There was joy and laughter and moments when I really wanted to slam my head hard against the desk (and it's all mostly Uther's fault) and I even bit my nails (which I neverever do)

(and naturally, there will be spoilers. For the whole season. Because I may not have seen it all, but wikipedia told me I just know)

BBC MERLIN - SEASON 3 EPISODE 1 'THE TEARS OF UTHER PENDRAGON -  PART ONE'

 - So, to start off, it - for some reason or the other - actually bugged me that Uther was this worried. Because Uther is never this worried, not really. He's angry. But he's not worried. Minus points for having Uther be way too emotional (even if a part of me secretly likes it)

- I never even realized how much I have missed Merlin and Arthur and their banter until now. 'It's not as fat as yours'. Both thumbs up if Arthur had made a remark about Merlin's arse. Only, that would have made me all the fangirls go craaazy.

- In the ensuing battle, at the camp right before they find Morgana I kept thinking of why the hell Merlin didn't have a sword. I know he doesn't need one, but Arthur is not aware of this, so he should have given one to his servant already at the start of the journey. They must have at least been somewhat aware that they would meet trouble. I know he's rubbish at using it anyway, but 'tis better than nothing.

- Okay, I don't think Gaius medic-training is completely up-to-speed anymore (even if it seemed to be at a degree of several centuris in the other seasons). All he says to Morgana is that she 'needs rest'. Well duh. I could have told her that. The dead knights from the scene before could have told her that. Don't you have an evil-meter or something, so we can avoid all this bollocks before it goes off Gaius???

- (and also, Gaius, I know you and Gwen are close, but only - and I repeat only - Arthur is allowed to call Gwen 'Guinevere'. Because when he says it my bones sort of melt, but when you say it I think of whenever my father used my full name and I knew I'd been in trouble. IT'S GWEN TO YOU MAGIC MAN!)

- Morgana may not be the best actress in Albion, but she has me really want to believe that she's good. Because while her smirks of evil give me the same thrill as Robin Hood does with the Sheriff and his gisborneguard!abuse, I want her to be good. I know, but I have to be true to my feelings, okay?? If Xena and Spike can be redeemed, so can she!!

- (momentarily lapse in attention as Arthur has no shirt on. Will be right back)

- So, the reunion-scene between Uther and Morgana is horribly awkward. I don't believe they were ever that close. I mean, this is the girl that has defied him several times, has told him he will go to hell and practically been a little brat of a ward. And also, I think the part of Uther that was capable of feeling so deep emotion died with Igraine. A lot of people might disagree with me on this, but I stand behind it nonetheless. Uther, grab a biscuit and get over it.

- Is it bad, that when Morgause is going on and brewing evil!potions, my first thought is: 'yummy! chocolate-pudding!' Really, pick a more sinister colour for your badassness next time, please? (it might just be the bad quality on my computer; was the colour in fact blood-red and sinister? Please inform me if I am wrong in this)

- OMG! Harry Potter!Crossover - PLEASE I WANT RIGHT NOOOAAAW!!! So, I know the whole Mandrake-lore is probably very commen and happens EVERYWHERE, but I still want that crossover. Bad.

- So, the exchange between Uther and Morgana where Gorlois is mentioned sort of has me hold my breath, squee with anticipation and facepalm myself, all at the same time. Which is hard to do.

- Also, those dripping-sounds the mandrake-root is making from under his bed? THAT WOULD TOTALLY KEEP ME AWAKE! And why doesn't anyone (like, the servants??) notice it when they're cleaning?? Or didn't anyone clean under their beds at the time? Sorry if I'm being nitpicky, but I just thought it could have been done a little better. Also, the potion thing still looks like chocolate to me.

- At the party right before Uther goes all insane, it's nice to see some non-intense, non-serious interaction between Uther and Arthur. Uther's emotional: 'It has been a long time since I felt like this.' and then Arthurs: 'What, drunk?' was just, sort of... perfect. And plus for Morgana actually looking guilty, just for the tiiiiiiniest of seconds, when Uther says that she will never know how much he really cares about her. Or that might have just been me imagining it, because I want her to be good dammit!!

- Anthony Head gives me chills when he screams. I actually sat looking over my shoulder in fright of their being a ghost during this entire ep. The whole 'drowned' thing is made very well and it is extremely creepy. I also like how it gives us just the tiniest scraps of insight into Uther's mind: the fact that he might actually feel guilty about killing this many (especially children) even if he does think he was doing the right thing.

- Alright Morgana, that was it! You DO NOT kill the guards of Camelot! They get killed off ALL THE TIME and that one actually looked cute. And it doesn't help that you look like Red-Riding Hood in that cloak either! (really, I'm just jealous that you look this gorgeous in red)

- Another thing that might be bothering me about how much fuss there is on the Uther-Morgana front, is that we did not get a reunion scene between Morgana and Gwen. Which is wrong. Wrongwrongwrong. I am thinking of calling the set and complaining. WHY WAS THERE NOT A PROPER M/G REUNION???

- However, the flirting between Morgause and King Cenred almost made up for it. It was hawt people! I tell you, we need more scenes like this but between Gwen and Arthur. The line 'I don't think with my sword' was totally inspired.

- When the dead/drowned kid's ghost first appeared I jumped in the air at the music. Very well made, even if it made my heart gallop every time they gave us a shot of him. I mean, he looks like a kicked puppy and he's blue but drowned people scare the crap out of me. It does make me want to write Horror/Merlin fanfiction though. Merlin/Saw crossover anyone??

- I feel so bad for Uther, which says a lot of AH's acting because I hate Uther (that is to say, I love to hate him. Because I can never really hate Rupert Giles, now can I??)

- When Morgana says '... a kingdom without a leader' she says it with so much glee in her voice, it makes me want to jump up and down and clap my hands. I love it.

- All in all, this was a great start of the season. And I want more, right now please!
