I AM GOING TO MARRY THE CRAP OUTTA THIS MOVIE!
No, but seriously. That was amazing. Stunning scenery, excellent camera-work, amazing acting especially by Jennifer, Josh and Willow. How sinister is Donald Sutherland all of the sudden? How amazing was Clove? How perfect was the casting for Foxface? HOW INCREDIBLE WAS THE EXTRA LITTLE SCENE OF SENECA CRANE'S ASSASINATION WHERE THEY SIMPLY LOCK HIM IN A ROOM WITH THE BERRIES?? OMG SNOW YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR IS SO DISTURBING I LOVE IT.
The costumes where stunning as well, but I had imagined more fire from the chariot-rides; I liked what I was given though. The extra-scenes were a nice touch - in the books we are extremely restricted to Katniss POV, and the movies had a chance to expand on that. They did it beautifully.
Faults? I would've liked more time with Rue, and the whole of the conversation between Katniss and Peeta in the cave. His 'I saw you every day after that. Every day' was incredibly sweet though, and I will not account for any high-pitched sounds of joy I might've made at the time. I am so happy they didn't go all Gale/Katniss/Peeta drama on us, but they might still drop the bomb in the second movie (and to be fair, there is a fair bit of romantic drama in Catching Fire. I'm just praying it won't be the focus). Katniss' hallucinations, the flashback and Ceasar Flickerman were things that had me jumping in my seat as well, and the Mutts where alright; they were used in the best way possible, without adding or taking too much away. I'm sort of happy they didn't go with the 'they're made out of the dead Tributes' because I disliked that in the book to be honest, and it would have been even harder to do in the movie.
So, overall? Not perfect. But nothing is. And this was as fucking close as it could possibly be. AM I GOING TO SEE IT IN THE CINEMAS AGAIN? HELL YES!!
