Yesterday 5.000 young people demonstrated against the ACTA-deal in Denmark's capitol Copenhagen, more specifically on Israel's Place (where I've never been before, so I totally got lost on the way xD). Articles in Danish here and here, with pictures. I was only able to stay for about an hour (it's a two to three hour drive back home for me, which turned into four because DSB works for the Devil) and I was sooo tired after the party Friday, but it was actually a lot of fun and worth the expensive trip. I was surprised to meet three people from my old school that I haven't talked to in over a year, but the friend I was supposed to meet up with ditched me, so I didn't get my camera back and couldn't stay longer - I would've stayed at her place but noooo -.-

As you can see, they've picked up Anonymous's V for Vendetta's mask, and it's not only young people: I talked to a 60-year old guy who was very angry :D. I was also surprised by how many people there was, to be honest: that is a lot of people for such a small country, with so little opportunity to travel from the country to the capitol.

I'd translate the articles for you, but I am too lazy tired busy to do so right now: the gist of it is that for once we were awesome at doing a demonstration.

Some days ago we also had an ACTA protest, but because I live under a rock I only found out about it the day it happened and by that time it was already over.
Heh, our railway company is famous for being late. It's a running joke.
Hee, the masks!

I was actually not going to go at first, because of the part Friday night, but I'm glad I did :)

It's a running joke over here as well! DSB is notoriously late xD

So awesome that you were able to attend the rally. People aren't going to take this lying down.

It was a lot of fun, I just wish I could have stayed longer. I had an argument with my uncle, who doesn't think that demonstrating ever changes anything, which I strongly disagree with. It shows the public that a large amount of people disagree, and it shows our politicians that we won't just be silent about it.

I think in today's world with so much happening behind the scenes (or under the table)it takes a big, visual display that can't be denied. Though I didn't see a single bit of news footage over here in the UK :(

It's not until this demonstration that ACTA has gotten any attention in the news over here either, and it still isn't getting the proper one imo. They are too busy still talking about Whitney Houston's funeral -.-

I kind of love that the mask has become a tool of civil protest. <3

And yay for participating in demonstration you believe in! In sounds like it went awesomely.

*applauds your icon* I think its incredibly cool that they've picked it up: it's a well-known thing, without it being absolutely mainstream and with a great meaning behind it. I was so surprised the first time I saw a picture, I thought it was from the movie for a second ;)
