I'm just going to leave this here, as it's a brilliant read, written by someone who actually knows what they're talking about:
We Can't be Equal While...
Speaking of females, I've just watched Winters Bone with Jennifer Lawrence: I can definitely recommend it!

Honestly, the more I watch the show, the more beautiful these people become: because they're interesting, and not flat, and their personalities sort of shine on their face in the end.

I've stopped counting the times where I've discovered a new actor, thought 'he's not very attractive, but he can bloody well act' and three months later I have this massive crush and I can't remember why I ever found him/her not handsome. But that's because of their personalities, voices etc.

Date: 2012-04-17 11:53 am (UTC)When I saw Benedict Cumberbatch on television for the first time, the first words out of my mouth were; 'his face looks weird'. His face looks weird!!!! Today I'd die from joy if I was ever in the same room as him!

Date: 2012-04-17 05:03 pm (UTC)Gatiss is on that list too now. It's funny, because I saw him in so many things and didn't realise it was the same guy until I looked at his filmography. Had the shock of my life when I saw he was the alien in DW 6.13. :P At first I thought he wasn't good-looking, but now I think he's got a lot of charm and a lovely voice. Funny how perception changes!

Date: 2012-04-17 07:50 pm (UTC)True, I saw him in tons of things, and he always looked so different. From period drama to Midsomer Murders to Being Human... I've yet to see him in purely comic stuff. :)

Date: 2012-04-19 06:08 pm (UTC)He's ginger in Being Human!! Apparently he insisted because he wanted to be a ginger vampire. ;) And besides the ginger-ness, he sort of played the villain of my dreams, so...
Hmm, things I saw him in: Midsomer Murders, Sense and Sensibility, Jekyll, Poirot, something about the Spanish Flu I don't remember the title of... But these were all before my 'Omg it's the same guy in all these things' epiphany. I need to find new things.
